Winemaking

Vegan wines, sulphites, traditional methods. Local, sustainable practices with respect for nature, quality, and tradition.

 Why Vinolok™

The creation of the Vinolok™ glass closure was a response to the growing problems with natural closures at the time. The idea was to develop a closure that was neutral, stable, and did not suffer from the ills of natural closures, such as inconsistency during ageing, and TCA. The Allacher family actively searched for a solution to these problems, and found Vinolok™. At the time, Vinolok™ was also a unique solution, a distinctive feature that no one else had.

About

Allacher Vinum Pannonia is a family winery nestled in Gols, Austria. Their vineyards span approximately 40 hectares in the renowned Neusiedlersee wine-growing region. Notably, they cultivate the historic Altenberg and Salzberg vineyards. The winery harmoniously blends tradition and modernity, and focuses on local, sustainable practices, with respect for nature.

Beginning

When Michael Allacher and his father first considered Vinolok™, their objective was to identify a closure that would not affect their wines. In 2004, the glass closure was a relatively novel concept, and they elected to test its efficacy. The results were favourable: the closure was well received by their customers, and the wines exhibited the desired characteristics.

Experience

Thanks to being among the pioneers in using the glass closure, it has become part of the winery’s best and most acclaimed wines. Michael attests to the fact that the technical characteristics of the closure guarantee the uniformity of the wine within each bottle over time. It facilitates the preservation of the wines in their intended state, and ensures optimal results during the ageing process, due to consistent micro-oxidation.
