Why Vinolok™
As the spirit of innovation is one of the foundations of the Fantini Group, the constant search for something new led them to Vinolok™. The aim was to introduce the glass closure, and create a new packaging and label that would attract more customers, and differentiate it on the shelf among other wines, with the sole purpose of entering a new market. The rebranding of Pipoli and Sensuale proved a great success.

About
The Fantini Group was born in 1994 in the Abruzzo region of Italy, in the town of Ortona. Founded by three visionary partners – Filippo, Valentino and Camillo – they were affectionately known as “the three dreamers”. Despite having no financial capital and no vineyards of their own, they defied the odds and created a flagship winery for southern Italy. The Fantini Group has a philosophy rooted in passion, innovation, and respect for the land. Their commitment to sustainable viticulture and winemaking is evident in every bottle. They believe that great wines are born from harmony with nature, meticulous craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of terroir.
Beginning
The glass closure was presented to the Fantini Group’s decision-makers in 2021 by their Amorim representative. They immediately liked the look, calling it “the prettiest closure in the market”, and saw the potential for younger consumers who appreciate the ease of opening and closing the bottle. So, without further tests, the Group decided to change the packaging of two already existing brands, and to seal them with the glass closure.
Experience
With more than 65% of its production focused on red wines, the company is feeling the shift in consumer demand towards easy-drinking white and rosé wines. As they expand their production and aim to increase sales of these wines, they need to position themselves better on the market. However, to be competitive in this segment, it is necessary to offer something new and different. The bet is on Vinolok™, a niche product, new to many people, but with a proven track record of hundreds of millions of sealed bottles, making it a reliable closure.

With Vinolok™, the positioning of a wine in terms of quality, value, and price acceptance is higher than with other types of closure. It is even well accepted by traditional wine consumers.
